~~~~~The Spiritual Master Arrives in Gadag~~~~~
His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's visit to Gadag was an enthralling event.
The public meet held in the Vidyadhana school ground was an event not to
be missed.
The stage where His Holiness is seated has one uniqueness,the
platform has a long walking stretch that leads right to the end's of the crowd.
This elongated platform allows for His Holiness to interact with all His Devotees.
As Guruji walked along the long platform everyone rushed to HIM thronging the
platform.Everyone was waving there hands at Guruji and Guruji waved back.
"Sri Sri" walked along the platform smiling , He threw flowers in the air,doing
Namaskara to everyone.
His Holiness spoke of the Greatness of India,emphasising its great Spirituality.
Sri said India had given the world the Numeral Zero and also the names of the
various Months
were in fact Sanskrit Words.Sri said the Month March which in
English means move forward or march ahead is the start of the New Year.
Ugadi is celebrated in March,and the same is done in countries such as Iran,Iraq
and Turkey.
He also spoke of the Veer Narayana temple, mentioning the
Great Poet Kumar Vyasa of Gadag.The Great Poet had written the Kannada
version of Mahabharata in the Temple.
He spoke of cultivating love with everyone.The Meditation session
lasted longer than
the suggested 10 Minutes,it lasted about 16 Minutes.
His Holiness spoke of the qualities
that a Meditation practitioner needs,not
expecting anything,not presuming anything about oneself and letting the mind
be free
without forcing it.He spoke of the transformative power of
Meditation, making one more responsible and a lessening of wants.
Such a brief visit
left everyone wishing for more. One of my friends
standing next to me
in the crowd commented about His Holiness
"what patience HE must have" .Patience, Simplicity and an Ocean of Love.
Gadag was truly blessed,as one person in the crowd said
"His coming to Gadag itself is Very BIG ".
His smile , His large eyes and His Humble benevolent nature,folded hands
and smiling
face everything about HIM just enchants!!!
I feel very lucky indeed to have stood so close
to 'HIS HOLINESS'
